John Howie Obtains $6 Million Jury Verdict
On September 28, 2016, a Reagan County, Texas jury rendered a verdict of $6,000,000 on behalf of a client of Howie Law, PC. The verdict was obtained against Energy Services Company of Bowie (aka ESCO Leasing). Defendant ESCO’s oil rig operator, Rafael Mancilla, carelessly allowed thousands of pounds of steel to fall on his client’s dominant arm resulting in severe and permanent injuries. The jury’s verdict sent a very clear message that careless conduct in oil field operations cannot be tolerated.
